What Is the Sporefall Raid?
Sporefall is a single-boss raid added to WoW Midnight in Patch 12.0.7: Revelations, live since June 16, 2026. The entrance sits in Harandar, next to the Grudge Pit delve, and the only encounter inside is Rotmire, a fungal giant the sporecallers have grown far past its natural size. All four difficulties opened on day one: Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic, so there is no staggered unlock schedule to wait out.
The fight is an add-control encounter: Rotmire keeps raising fungal minions, and at full energy casts Fungal Bloom, which hits the whole raid and turns leftover corpses into bursting mushrooms. Raid-wide damage ramps the longer the pull lasts, so kill speed and clean positioning decide the outcome. That is exactly where random groups fall apart on Heroic and above, and why a coordinated team clears it in one controlled session.
Sporefall Loot: Sporefused Gear and Collectibles
Everything Rotmire drops carries the Sporefused tag: the item arrives at its full item level with no crest or upgrade investment. On Mythic that is item level 298, the gear ceiling of Midnight Season 1, from a single weekly kill.
Difficulty | Sporefused item level |
Raid Finder | 259 |
Normal | 272 |
Heroic | 285 |
Mythic | 298 |
Beyond gear, the raid carries a set of exclusive collectibles: the Luminous Sporeglider mount, the Madcap Redcap toy, and the Luminous Rotshroom housing decoration, plus the Heroic: Rotmire and Mythic: Rotmire kill achievements. Completing the raid's intro quest once also rewards a bonus-roll item usable on Midnight Season 1 raid bosses.
Mythic Flex: a 15 to 25 Player Mythic
Sporefall is the first raid in WoW history to run Mythic on a flexible roster. Instead of the fixed 20-player format every previous tier used, the encounter scales its health, damage, and add counts for groups of 15 to 25 players. Blizzard is testing the format on this raid only, and for buyers it has a practical upside: Mythic rosters assemble and schedule faster, which makes a Mythic Rotmire kill one of the most accessible ways to bring top-end seasonal loot to your character.
