Palworld Corrosive Solvent (1.0): Recipe, Farm & Uses

By Published Updated ~8 min

Everything about Corrosive Solvent in Palworld 1.0: the simple two-ingredient recipe, how to unlock it early and farm both ingredients passively, where it sits in the material chain, and every weapon, lightweight armor piece, crafting station, and saddle it feeds.

Corrosive Solvent is one of the earliest crafting materials you make in Palworld 1.0, and one of the longest-lived - a simple one Venom Gland plus one Sulfur at the Production Assembly Line, unlocked at Technology Level 37. Unlike the deeper assembly-line materials, it does not need an upgraded station, so you can start producing it early. It then feeds a remarkably broad slice of the game: every lightweight (weight-reduction) armor tier, a handful of weapons, several crafting-station upgrades, two saddles, and even endgame research. No Pal drops it, so you make it. This guide covers the recipe, how to farm both ingredients passively, where it sits in the material chain, and every single thing it builds.

Corrosive Solvent is the second rung of the 1.0 assembly-line material chain - see our new resources and materials guide for how the whole chain fits together.

The Recipe and Its Ingredients

The recipe is as simple as it gets: 1 Venom Gland + 1 Sulfur = 1 Corrosive Solvent. The in-game description calls it a dangerous chemical solvent with strong decomposing properties, used for precision processing and special treatments. Both ingredients are easy to set up a steady supply of:

Ingredient
Where it comes from
Venom Gland
From Dark and Poison Pals (Depresso, Killamari, Menasting), Wandering Merchants at 100 Gold, or passively from a Depresso or Caprity Noct on a Ranch
Sulfur
Yellow ore boulders in the Desert and Volcanic regions, some dungeons, or unlimited from a Sulfur Quarry (unlocked at Level 46)

Neither ingredient is a real bottleneck once your farms are running, which is what makes Corrosive Solvent one of the more comfortable materials to keep stocked.

How to Unlock and Craft It

The path is short, and the key detail is that it does not need a high-tier station:

  • Reach Technology Level 37 and spend 2 Technology Points to unlock Corrosive Solvent.
  • Build a Production Assembly Line. Unlike Bio Battery and Thermal Core, which need the upgraded Line II, Corrosive Solvent crafts on the basic Production Assembly Line - so you can make it as soon as you unlock it.
  • Queue and assign a Pal. At 15,000 work per unit it is a quick craft; assign a Handiwork Pal and batch it.

Note the Production Assembly Line needs power - a Power Generator and an assigned Electric Pal - to run. Our Bio Battery guide covers the next material up the chain, which does need the Line II.

Farming the Ingredients Passively

The best thing about Corrosive Solvent is that both ingredients can be fully automated at your base, so you never have to grind for it:

  • Venom Gland drops from Dark and Poison Pals - Menasting in the Desert gives 5 to 10 per kill, and Depresso and Cawgnito are easy early targets. Wandering Merchants sell them for 100 Gold each. For a hands-off supply, put a Depresso or Caprity Noct on a Ranch and it produces Venom Glands continuously.
  • Sulfur comes from the big yellow boulders in the Desert and Volcanic regions, and some dungeons. Better still, unlock a Sulfur Quarry at Level 46 for an unlimited passive source at your base.

Set up a Ranch Pal for Venom Glands and a Sulfur Quarry, and Corrosive Solvent becomes a material your base simply produces in the background. Capturing and butchering the Venom Gland Pals doubles your yield - our Service-Minded guide covers that farm.

One practical note on timing: the Sulfur Quarry unlocks at Level 46, a little after Corrosive Solvent itself, so early on you will be gathering Sulfur by hand from the Desert and Volcanic boulders. Stockpile a chest of it on those early trips, because until the Quarry is running Sulfur is the slower of the two ingredients to accumulate. Once both the Ranch and the Quarry are up, the material effectively farms itself.

Where Corrosive Solvent Sits in the Material Chain

Corrosive Solvent is the second material in the 1.0 assembly-line chain, unlocking at Level 37 - after Cryogenic Coolant (Level 31) and before Bio Battery (Level 44). Its most important chain role is feeding Thermal Core, which needs 2 Corrosive Solvent per craft, so if you farm Thermal Cores off Aegidron you sidestep a lot of Solvent demand. But it also stands on its own as the lightweight-armor material and a station-upgrade gate, which keeps it relevant from the mid game all the way to the Level 79 Lightweight Ancient Armor. It is one of the few early materials you never really stop making.

That longevity is what sets it apart from a material like Cryogenic Coolant, which is heavily front-loaded into base structures. Corrosive Solvent instead has three separate demand waves: an early one as you build out your base stations and first lightweight armor, a mid-game one for Thermal Cores and the Hexolite armor tier, and a late one for the Lightweight Ancient Armor and the two research tasks. Because those waves are spread across 40-plus Technology levels, a player who sets up passive production at Level 37 is never caught short, while one who ignores it ends up grinding Venom Glands at exactly the wrong moment.

Weapons That Need Corrosive Solvent

A handful of weapons draw on it, from an early launcher to an endgame one:

Weapon
Corrosive Solvent
Tech Lv
Tactical Grenade Launcher
15
72
Meteor Launcher
5
38
Pal Metal Axe / Pickaxe
5 each
44
Katana
3
44
Dark Grenade
1
40

The Tactical Grenade Launcher is the notable endgame use at 15, while the Katana and Meteor Launcher are cheap early picks. For which of these are worth building, see our weapons tier list.

The Lightweight Armor Line

This is Corrosive Solvent's signature use: every weight-reduction armor tier runs on it. Lightweight armor keeps your carry capacity high while still protecting you, and the whole line needs Solvent:

Armor
Corrosive Solvent
Tech Lv
Notes
Lightweight Ancient Armor
50
79
The best weight-reduction armor; by far the biggest Solvent sink
Lightweight Hexolite Armor
10
65
Top mid-endgame lightweight armor
Lightweight Plasteel Armor
8
55
The first lightweight tier

The jump at the top is steep: Lightweight Ancient Armor needs 50 Corrosive Solvent, and the schematic-upgraded versions cost even more. If you favor a mobility build over raw defense, this armor line - and therefore Corrosive Solvent - is a permanent fixture of your crafting.

Stations, Saddles, and Research

The use most guides miss entirely: Corrosive Solvent gates a wall of crafting-station upgrades and more. Some of the stations that make your best gear need Solvent to build in the first place:

Item
Corrosive Solvent
Type
What it is
Advanced Weapon Assembly Line
30
Station
The endgame weapon crafting station
Refrigerated Crusher
20
Station

Weapon Assembly Line II

Astegon / Shadowbeak Saddle

The standout is that the Production Assembly Line II and Weapon Assembly Line II both need Corrosive Solvent to build - so it is a progression gate, not just a gear material. On top of these, two endgame research tasks (Medicine Production Lv6 and Pals at Base Enhancement Lv3) each cost 100 Corrosive Solvent, which is the single biggest demand for it in the whole game.

How Much Should You Stockpile?

Corrosive Solvent demand is spread wide rather than concentrated, so it adds up quietly. The lightweight armor line alone runs to 68 across the three tiers at base cost, the station upgrades add dozens more, and the two research tasks want 100 each. Because the ingredients automate so well, the right approach is to set up passive production early and let it accumulate. A Ranch Pal for Venom Glands, a Sulfur Quarry, and a Production Assembly Line running Solvent batches in the background will keep you supplied through the entire game. Keep a healthy stack in a chest near your crafting stations so an armor craft or station upgrade never stalls for the want of a few units.

Tips and Common Mistakes

  • It crafts on the basic Production Assembly Line. No Line II needed, unlike Bio Battery and Thermal Core - you can make it as soon as you hit Level 37.
  • Automate both ingredients. A Depresso or Caprity Noct on a Ranch handles Venom Glands; a Sulfur Quarry handles Sulfur.
  • Farm Thermal Core off Aegidron. That sidesteps the 2 Corrosive Solvent per Thermal Core craft entirely.
  • Do not sell spares. The 720 Gold is minor next to how much the lightweight armor line and research consume.
  • Budget for the station upgrades. The Line II stations need Solvent to build, so keep some on hand before you upgrade.
  • Stock up before the Ancient Armor. Lightweight Ancient Armor needs 50 per craft, far more with schematics.
  • Capture and butcher the Venom Gland Pals. Two drop rolls per Pal beats killing them outright.

FAQ

What is the Corrosive Solvent recipe in Palworld?

One Venom Gland plus one Sulfur makes one Corrosive Solvent at the Production Assembly Line, unlocked at Technology Level 37 for 2 points. Unlike Bio Battery and Thermal Core, it crafts on the basic Production Assembly Line - no upgraded station needed. It cannot be looted, only crafted.

How do you farm Corrosive Solvent ingredients?

Venom Glands drop from Dark and Poison Pals like Menasting (5-10 per kill in the Desert), Wandering Merchants sell them for 100 Gold, and a Depresso or Caprity Noct on a Ranch produces them passively. Sulfur comes from yellow boulders in the Desert and Volcanic regions, or unlimited from a Sulfur Quarry unlocked at Level 46. Both can be fully automated.

What is Corrosive Solvent used for in Palworld?

A lot. It feeds every lightweight armor tier (Plasteel, Hexolite, and Ancient), several weapons (Tactical Grenade Launcher, Meteor Launcher, Katana, Pal Metal tools), Thermal Core, two saddles (Astegon and Shadowbeak), crafting-station upgrades like the Production Assembly Line II, and two endgame research tasks that need 100 each.

What level do you unlock Corrosive Solvent?

Technology Level 37, for 2 Technology Points. You also need a Production Assembly Line with power - a Power Generator and an assigned Electric Pal - to craft it. It is one of the earlier assembly-line materials and, unlike the deeper ones, does not require an upgraded station.

Can you get Corrosive Solvent without crafting it?

No. Corrosive Solvent is a crafted material only - it does not drop from Pals or bosses, is not found in chests, and is not sold by vendors. You gather Venom Gland and Sulfur and synthesize it at the Production Assembly Line. It sells for 720 Gold, but selling it is a mistake given how much your gear and stations consume.

What armor needs Corrosive Solvent?

The entire lightweight (weight-reduction) armor line. Lightweight Plasteel Armor needs 8, Lightweight Hexolite Armor needs 10, and Lightweight Ancient Armor needs 50. If you run a mobility-focused build that keeps carry weight high, Corrosive Solvent is a permanent part of your crafting.

How much Corrosive Solvent do you need?

The demand is spread wide - the lightweight armor line totals 68 at base cost, station upgrades add dozens, Thermal Core takes 2 each, and the two research tasks want 100 apiece. Since both ingredients automate easily, set up passive production early and keep a standing stockpile rather than crafting on demand.
