What a Rented Booster Actually Changes in a Group

Group content in Midnight is gated by roles, not by player count. A five-player key needs one tank and one healer, and a raid needs enough of both to cover the fight. When your regular group is three damage dealers and nobody wants to tank, the run does not happen at all. That is a different problem from being undergeared or playing badly, and it is the problem this service solves.

Renting a booster fills the seat that is blocking you and leaves the rest of the group alone. You are not replaced, benched or logged out of. Your friends keep their spots, you keep playing your own character, and the missing role is covered by someone who plays it at a professional standard. Every keystone, every drop and every bit of weekly progress lands on the accounts that were sitting in the group anyway.

That is also why the value of a session scales with how close your group already is. A group that clears eight-key dungeons but loses the timer on every pull decision gains more from one hired tank than from three hired damage dealers. The hire is a repair, not a replacement.

Tank, Healer, DPS or Raid Leader: Which Role to Hire

All four are available on this page, and they solve different failures. Pick the one your group actually loses runs to.

Tank

The tank sets the route, decides pull size, holds threat and picks what gets skipped. In Mythic+ that makes the tank the single biggest lever on the timer, because route quality and pull sizing determine whether the group finishes with time to spare or dies to a pull it should never have taken. Hire a tank when the group survives fights but keeps running out of time.

Healer

The healer absorbs everything the group gets wrong. Avoidable damage, a missed interrupt, a bad cooldown order - a strong healer keeps the key alive through all of it long enough for the group to correct. Hire a healer when your runs end in deaths rather than in a missed timer, and when your current healer is the one asking for help.

DPS

Damage is the role people underrate on a rental, because a group with both support roles covered can still fail on throughput. Enrage timers, dungeon timers and add phases all care about raw output. Hire damage when the group holds together but the boss does not die, or when you are one seat short of running at all.

Raid Leader

The raid leader is the upgrade most groups have never actually tried. Instead of only playing a role, the booster runs the group: hands out assignments, explains what each boss does before the pull, positions people, calls cooldown order and adjusts between attempts. In the Venomous Abyss that matters most on the back half of the instance, where the fights ask a group to hold assignments rather than to press more buttons. The leader is playing the whole time, so you are buying calls and execution in the same seat.

Season 2 Content a Hired Booster Runs With You

Season 2 opens on 18 August 2026 with patch 12.1, Curse of Ula'tek, landing one week earlier on 11 August. Every number below is the Season 2 loot table, so a booked session is worth something specific rather than a vague promise of progress.

The Venomous Abyss. Eight bosses across the Coiled Isle and the Temple of Ula'tek, ending on Ula'tek, with Venom Idols as the tier tokens. Loot climbs by boss group and difficulty: LFR runs 279 to 289, Normal 292 to 302, Heroic 305 to 315, and Mythic 318 to 344 on the final pair. A hired raid leader or a hired role slots into your own raid group for the difficulty you are working on.

Mythic+. The Season 2 pool is Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, Kings' Rest, Ruby Life Pools and Temple of Sethraliss. Heroic dungeons drop 276 with a 289 Vault slot, Mythic 0 drops 292 with a 302 Vault slot, and a timed +10 drops 311 at the end of the dungeon with a 318 Vault slot. Your keystone stays yours and upgrades on a timed run.

Delves. Chest rewards run 276 at the lower tiers up to 292 at Tier 8, with the Tier 8 weekly chest paying 305. The world row of the Great Vault scales to 305 at Tier 7 and 311 at Tier 8. Delves are soloable, so the usual reason to book one is the tier where your own character stops clearing comfortably.

The Tidebound Grotto. The season's lair is a single-boss instance against Nymrissa Wavecaller, separate from the raid, running at World, Normal, Heroic and Mythic Flex for 15 to 25 players, dropping 279, 292, 305 and 318 respectively. World difficulty opens the week of 12 August 2026 and the other three the week of 19 August 2026, so a Grotto session is worth booking against those dates rather than against the season opening.

What One Session Feeds Into Your Great Vault

The Great Vault has three rows and each one fills on its own counter. The raid row unlocks at 2, 4 and 6 boss kills in a week. The dungeon row unlocks at 1, 4 and 8 Heroic, Mythic or Timewalking dungeons. The world row unlocks at 2, 4 and 8 Delves or world activities.

Here is the part most sites get wrong, and it changes how you should book. Filling all three rows gives you up to nine items to look at, but you claim exactly one reward from the entire Vault each week. Nine choices, one claim. A session that fills a row you already had covered adds options you will never take.

So the useful question before booking is which single item you want to walk away with next reset. If it is a 318 dungeon slot, the session should be aimed at eight dungeons with a timed +10 among them. If it is raid gear, the raid row needs the boss count, and one kill cannot fill it. If your character is far enough behind that any of the three rows is an upgrade, the row that takes the fewest runs to fill is the one to book.

Mistcrests a Booked Session Pays Out

Gear upgrading in Season 2 runs on Mistcrests, and they come in five tiers that decide how far a piece can climb. Adventurer comes from repeatable outdoor events and Delve Tier 4. Veteran comes from outdoor events, LFR Venomous Abyss, Heroic season dungeons, Delve Tiers 5 and 6. Champion comes from weekly outdoor events, Normal Venomous Abyss, Mythic season dungeons, Mythic+ 2 and 3, and Delve Tiers 7 to 10. Hero comes from Heroic Venomous Abyss, Mythic+ 4 through 8, and Delve Tier 11. Myth comes from Mythic Venomous Abyss and Mythic+ 9 and up.

The lair pays crests too, so a Tidebound Grotto session is not a detour from gearing: World difficulty pays Veteran, Normal pays Champion, Heroic pays Hero and Mythic Flex pays Myth.

Upgrade tracks at season start run Explorer 253 to 269, Adventurer 266 to 282, Veteran 279 to 295, Champion 292 to 308, Hero 305 to 321 and Myth 318 to 334. Those tracks get extended part way through the season, so the honest way to plan a session is by which crest tier it pays, not by a fixed ceiling that will move.

Filling More Than One Seat in the Group

The default on this page is one professional joining the group you already have. That covers the common case, where a settled group is short exactly one role and everything else works.

If your group is short more than one seat, more spots can be filled on request. Tell the manager how many players you are bringing and which roles are missing, and the order gets built around that. The pairing that unblocks the most groups is a tank and a healer together, because it turns any three damage dealers into a working five-player group. On raid content the same idea scales differently: a raid leader plus enough covered roles to hold the assignments is usually worth more than the same number of pure damage seats.

What does not change with the count is the delivery. Every booster on the order joins your group and plays their own account, and you keep playing yours.

Renting a Booster Is Not Coaching, and Not a Piloted Boost

Three services get confused with each other, and buying the wrong one wastes a week. Renting a booster puts a professional player in your group who does the job in the run itself. Coaching puts a professional in a teaching session where the point is your own play afterwards, not the loot from tonight. A piloted boost hands the character over so someone else plays it while you are offline.

This page is the first of the three, and only the first. Your booster will explain calls as they happen, because a raid leader who says nothing is not doing the job, but the session is measured in runs finished rather than in lessons delivered. Nobody logs into your account at any point, and there is no version of this order where you are not in the group.

If what you actually want is someone else clearing the content while you are away from the keyboard, a piloted service is the correct product. If you want your own play reviewed and corrected, coaching is. If you want the run to finish tonight with you in it, this one is.

Booking Around Season 2's Opening Weeks

Two dates do two different jobs. Patch 12.1 arrives on 11 August 2026 and delivers the content. Season 2 opens on 18 August 2026 and turns that content into a ladder with rewards attached. Between them, the Tidebound Grotto opens at World difficulty the week of 12 August and at Normal, Heroic and Mythic Flex the week of 19 August.

Everything that matters for a booked session resets weekly. Vault counters restart, the weekly Delve chest restarts, and raid lockouts restart. Booking a session early in the reset leaves room to build on it with your own runs for the rest of the week. Booking late means the session has to carry the whole week on its own, which usually means paying for more of it.

In the opening weeks specifically, everyone is on a fresh ladder, keystone levels across the player base are low, and groups are still forming. That is the window where a hired tank or healer is worth the most, because the shortage is at its worst and the gear gap between you and everyone else is at its smallest.
