What Renown 20 Actually Costs

Every rank is 2,500 reputation and the cap is 20, so one faction is 50,000 reputation end to end. None of it comes from a single place. It arrives through campaign and zone quests, World Quests and Special Assignments, zone rares, the weekly world events, Bountiful Caches out of Delves, and the weekly dungeon quest Halduron Brightwing hands out in Silvermoon City, which only ever counts toward one faction a week. Inscription Faction Contracts stack a passive bonus onto every World Quest and apply across the whole Warband. Past rank 20 the track does not stop, it rolls into Paragon, where each further 2,500 reputation pays out a bag. Nothing about any single step is hard. The reason people buy this is that the ceiling is fifty thousand reputation a faction and most of the income is rationed a week at a time.

The Factions You Can Pick

Midnight launched with four Renown factions, one per zone of Quel'Thalas, and each pays out differently. The Silvermoon Court in Eversong Woods is really five tracks in one, with the Blood Knights, Farstriders, Magisters and Shades of the Row building separately underneath it. The Amani Tribe in Zul'Aman carries the troll-themed mounts and weapons. The Hara'ti in Harandar run to transmog ensembles and a bioluminescent flying mount at the cap. The Singularity in the Voidstorm leans Void-themed, and like the rest it hands out a Champion-track gear piece partway up the track, which is real pre-raid item level for a climb rather than a lockout. All four take Voidlight Marl at the quartermaster, and maxing the launch four earns Midnight Diplomat.

Zul'jarra's Forces and Patch 12.1

Patch 12.1 adds a fifth faction to the list. Zul'jarra's Forces is the army Zul'jarra leads onto the Coiled Isle chasing her brother, and it is the first Midnight faction that is not one tribe but four: Shadowpine, Witherbark, Revantusk and Amani soldiers under a single banner against Malacrass and Ula'tek. It runs the same twenty ranks as the others, its quartermaster is Jan'sari the Watchful, and its rewards start unlocking at Renown 2 and climb to the Indigo Coiled Horror at Renown 17, a three-headed serpent from the new Writhe family. The whole track is Amani troll-themed, down to the housing decor and a new title, and it can be ordered here the same way as any other faction.
