What Mythic+ Rating Is in Season 2

Your Mythic+ rating is a per-character score built from your timed runs across the season's dungeon pool. The mechanic that decides how fast it moves is simple and unforgiving: only your best result in each dungeon counts. Eight dungeons means eight slots, and a run that lands in a slot you have already filled at that key level adds close to nothing.

The Season 2 pool is Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, Kings' Rest, Ruby Life Pools and Temple of Sethraliss. Magister's Terrace is not in it this season.

Patch 12.1, Curse of Ula'tek, lands on 11 August 2026, and Season 2 opens a week later on 18 August. Rating starts from zero for every character that day, which is the one point in the year when a pushed character and an unpushed one are level with each other.

Season 2 Rating Milestones

Every published rung of the Season 2 keystone chain is a permanent account achievement, and the chain stacks: a push to the top credits every tier below it in the same order.

One thing worth knowing before you pick a target: of the Season 2 rewards published so far, Conqueror at 1500 is the only one that pays a title. Master, Hero and Legend do not carry one, so if the name under your character is the point, 1500 is the rung that delivers it.

Keystone Myth at 3400 is the top rung, and it is the one target where honesty matters more than a bullet point. The tier is not new - it ran in Season 1 at the same 3400 rating - but Myth rewards are seasonal, and the Season 2 set has not been published. So this page promises you the rung and the ladder position it holds, and nothing else. When Blizzard publishes what Season 2 Myth pays, this page names it; we are not going to attach last season's rewards to this season's climb.

Why a Random Key Can Pay Almost Nothing

Because only your best run per dungeon counts, the worth of any single run depends entirely on which dungeon it lands in. The standard order is built on a random dungeon: the team runs whichever keystones it is holding when your session starts. That is the efficient way to buy when your score is even across the pool, and it is what most orders should use.

It stops being efficient when the score is lopsided. If two dungeons sit far behind the rest, or one has never been timed at all, a random key has a real chance of landing somewhere you have already beaten and moving the number barely at all. Naming a specific Season 2 dungeon on the order is a paid option that removes that risk, and it earns its cost in exactly one situation: when you can point at the gap it is meant to fill.

What a Rating Push Pays in Gear

Drops and the Great Vault

A timed +10 finishes with 311 item level gear at the end of the dungeon and feeds a 318 Great Vault option, the first Myth rung. The Vault's dungeon row unlocks at one, four and eight runs inside a week, and you take exactly one reward out of the whole Vault when it opens at the next weekly reset.

Gear stops scaling above +10. Keys past that point pay the same item level a +10 does, which is why a push to 3000 or 3400 is bought for the score and the ladder rather than the loot. If gear is the actual goal, a key-level order does that job more directly than a rating target.

Mistcrests

Every run pays Mistcrests, the Season 2 upgrade currency, and the tier depends on the key. Champion Mistcrests come from +2 and +3, Hero Mistcrests from +4 through +8, and Myth Mistcrests from +9 upward. A higher rating target therefore stockpiles the crest tier that the top of the upgrade tracks actually consumes, instead of the one you already have too much of.

Dungeon Teleports

Each dungeon in the pool has its own Keystone Hero achievement for timing that dungeon at +10, and clearing it grants the teleport to that dungeon. The naming catches people out constantly: "Keystone Hero" followed by a dungeon name is the per-dungeon +10 achievement, while Midnight Keystone Hero: Season 2 is the seasonal 2500 milestone. Reaching 2500 does not by itself hand you a teleport. The timed +10 runs completed on the way there are what earn them, dungeon by dungeon, on any push whose keys reach that level.

Which Rating Target to Buy

1500 is the entry rung and the one that puts a title under your character name. It credits Explorer and Conqueror, hands you the Venomous, and is the sensible pick if you play Mythic+ a few evenings a season and want the seasonal marker without living in keys.

2000 and 2500 are the working range. Master pays Breath of Blight, Hero pays no listed item, and both sit in the band where the key level is high enough that the runs are doing real gearing work at the same time. This is the range to buy into if you intend to keep pushing yourself afterwards, because it clears the slow early rungs and leaves you with the key levels to continue from.

3000 is Legend, and it is where the published Season 2 chain ends. It credits all five keystone achievements in a single order and pays Breath of Ruin, and since gear stopped improving well below it, what you are buying at this rung is the score itself.

3400 is Keystone Myth, the rung above Legend. It is the longest push on this page and the one that needs the highest keys, and it is bought for the tier and the ladder position: Season 2's Myth rewards are not published yet, and we are not going to guess at them. Take 3400 if sitting at the top of the season's ladder is the point; take 3000 if you want the published chain closed for the least work.
